1986 Season:
- The Williams FW11 Honda made its first appearance at the Brazilian Grand Prix, where Nelson Piquet won the race.
- Throughout the season, Piquet and teammate Nigel Mansell won a total of nine out of sixteen races, making the Williams team champions.
- At the Hungarian Grand Prix, Piquet won pole position by an amazing 2.5 seconds!
- In the last race of the season, Mansell won the Australian Grand Prix after Piquet crashed in qualifying and couldn’t start.
1987 Season:
- An updated version of the car called the FW11B was introduced, which had a new transmission and an even better engine.
- Piquet and Mansell were still a great team, winning twelve out of sixteen races
- They secured both the Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championships for Williams two years in a row!
- During the season, the car set many lap records, with Piquet setting the fastest lap in five races and Mansell in three.
- At the British Grand Prix, Mansell won in front of his home crowd by passing his teammate Piquet on the final lap of the race!
