ABC Records

ABC Records was an American record label that was active from the 1950s to the 1970s. The label was founded in 1955 as ABC-Paramount Records and was initially a subsidiary of the American Broadcasting-Paramount Theatres, Inc. The label changed its name to ABC Records in 1966 after being acquired by the American Broadcasting Company (ABC).

ABC Records was known for signing a diverse range of artists and releasing a wide variety of music, including rock, pop, jazz, and soul. Some of the notable artists who were signed to the label include Jim Croce, Steely Dan, The Jackson 5, The Four Tops, and B.B. King, among others.

In 1979, ABC Records was sold to MCA Records and was subsequently merged into the MCA label. Many of the recordings that were released on ABC Records have since been reissued on various other labels.
